Make Peace or Die
This is the story of United States Marine Corps veteran Anthony Marquez, as he sets out to revisit the 17 Gold Star Families of the men that were lost on his unit’s deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. Having previously made with his chainsaw a battlefield cross carving in honor of the XVII men that perished, Anthony traversed the United States delivering the carvings to the Gold Star Families. He has made it his mission to let them know their Marine will never be forgotten. In the process, he confronts his own trauma from the war and finds healing, while helping the families & fellow Marines heal.
Directed by Manny Marquez, and produced by Ben Leiser & Anthony Marquez. The film is now complete and is headed to the festival circuit.
